I'm Going to Photograph History!

Hey Everyone!

Welcome to the first blog post on This Insain Life! I want to start with a big one! I am about to embark on a project that I am so excited about. I’m going to photograph history!

A little background

I have been photographing moments all my life. Professionally for almost 10 years. I have worked with all sorts of brands, been on projects and have traveled all over the world. But my favorite projects are the ones where I take photos that MEAN something! I love to document moments, people, time, etc. And I want to do that for the rest of my life! And so this project is a really exciting one!

I am going to be going to London, for the 80th anniversary of the end of WW2! The trip was a spontaneous one and we decided to go one week before we leave. And I had this idea that it would be amazing to photograph this monumental event ON FILM!

The reasoning is because when I look t photos from WW2, I love looking at these beautiful photos shot on black and white film. These photos are historic and monumental for generations to come! So what better way is there to share the 80th anniversary of the end of the war than photographing the beautiful events ON BLACK AND WHITE FILM!

I have been thinking about this project for a week straight and I am stressed. But I think we got this! Im going to be taking my Canon R5 and Canon Powershot V1, but also my Konica FT-1 Motor with two lenses ( 50mm 1.4 and 28mm) I want to bring my medium format Pentax 67 or Mamiya RB67, but im not sure if I will have space in my bag. I think I need to prioritize the gear I KNOW I am going to be using and not bring EVERYTHING!

I ordered 14 rolls of black and white film. Ilford HP5 and some others! I just hope I can capture the photos and moments Ive been thinking about and not get overwhelmed! I’ll keep you posted!
